Week 5
This week we finished a first draft of the deck for the management presentation in November. In the upcoming week, we took some of the slides out and prepared the final presentation for Friday. We also started building the website for the management presentation. The website is very useful for our provider to show the next steps if they decide to get into the pick-up business.

To make sure we will finish the project on time we decided to work on the deck and prototype as well on Saturday. On upcoming Monday we will work at Bespoke again. So, if we do have any questions about the deck or the prototype we should have done some progress until Monday.

Monday 10.09.2017
To discuss the first slides of the deck, we went to San Francisco. We worked at Bespoke in the morning and had the opportunity to discuss actual issues. Now, we do have two tasks left. We should finish the first draft version of the deck until Thursday afternoon and work on the prototype. After an intensive morning, Cyril organized a small excursion to Google San Francisco. We met a friend of Cyril who works for Google as a software engineer. First, we had free lunch afterwards some coffee on the rooftop of Google. Then we did a small guided tour through the offices. Unfortunately, it was not allowed to take pictures. But it is amazing what Google offers to their employees. To numerate only a couple there is a gym, a wellness area, massages for free, a cinema and small arcade. After visiting Google, we travelled back to San Jose. In the evening, we recapped the day and discussed the upcoming day.

Finished first draft of pricing-model, description and further small texts for the prototype.

Today we had our last guest speaker at SCU. We got an interesting overview about what does it mean to work for a start-up and with what kind of tools and methods they work with.
We were changing the design of some pages so it looks better. The responsiveness is a big topic nowadays. We had to be sure to make the whole page responsive so the text fields and the button we be shown correctly on all devices. We also started to implement a Google Maps Search of all Valora stores.
On October 12th, we had to deliver a draft version of the deck and the prototype. That is why we worked on the deck and the prototype the whole day.
A management summary is an important part of a project. It is a short summary about the important things in the project. If someone is interested in the project they can read the summary and gets an idea what the project team did. On these grounds we are obligated to write a management summary for the HSLU and our project provider. Because we do have only one week left we started to work on the management summary.

In the morning we got the first feedback from our project provider about the deck and the prototype. So, we started to implement the adjustments. We are lucky that our provider was happy about the work we did this week. Some changes in the design were requested.
In the afternoon we went to San Francisco for the last time. We did have an interesting Friday speech. Unfortunately, we could not go on the roof top because of the smoke. There are several huge wildfires around San Francisco and smoke was everywhere.
Saturday 10.14.2017
Unfortunately, we did not get a feedback about the deck today. So, we could not work on it. Instead, we worked on the final presentation. It is quite challenging because of the Swiss and American audience. In the past weeks we have learned more about culture differences. Right now, we are not sure how we arrange our presentation. Besides presentation, we could work on the prototype. According to the
feedback, we had to do a couple of adjustments.
Sunday 10.15.2017
On Sunday we mainly worked on the prototype. We filled in the content on each subsite. We also tried to implement a Google Maps Search to look for the nearest Valora Stores. This is an optional goal but we wanted to try it out. It did not work out how we wanted and because of time reasons we let it go. We also implemented a contact formula to show how it could look when a customer would like to receive
some more information. In the evening, we started to layout the page some more. Additionally, we prepared a first version of the final presentation, so we can discuss it with our professor on Monday and get some feedback.
