Genetics Call 2017-1-30

1. Project updates

a. Integrative genomics: Yohan.  Performing TWAS, SMR, and colocalization using ICGC results and lung EQTL data.  Have done a lot of analysis before the holidays, finished and have a first draft.  Feedback generally positive with some interesting findings, and need some clarification and simplification.

b. Emphysema GWAS:  Rob Busch.  COPDGene, ECLIPSE, Framingham, Norway, MESA, Rotterdam 1/2.  Primary analyses for covariate set 1 on -log950.  Discussed issues about reference panels and allele frequency.  Seems like it would be optimal to run things through using HRC data at least for whites, given discrepancies between datasets.  Will discuss with individual cohorts.  Michael and Rob to follow-up.

c. Case control: UK Biobank / BiLEVE paper will be published Feb 6th, with press release.  Michael trying to coordinate with his press office as well, assuming dbGap issues are sorted out.

2. New Projects

a. GWIS / Marike Boezen: plan for genome-wide interaction with job exposure.  Will circulate to all cohorts looking for those who have job exposure data.

b. Emphysema distribution: looking at upper / lower and core / peel.  Adel El-Boueiz with Pete Castaldi, Ani Manichaikul, Graham Barr: will be submitting to exec and then to cohorts.
