1. Finish rewriting the summary statement of (the exigence, purpose, audience, context, writer, message) of the Abigail Adams letter in order to better understand the complexities of the rhetorical situation.

A. Go over AP Rhetorical Analysis Rubric, sophistication point.

B. Go over at rhetorical situation graphic

C. Open prompt and break down situation: You then me

D. Guided reading of prompt (you quick five—underlining anything about purpose, exigence, audience, etc.) then closer reading.

E. Go back to rubric and then original summary statement

2. Homework (rewrite a more sophisticated summary statement based upon close reading).
