A summer opportunity to consider: Northwestern College Preparation Program

Homework:

1. Finish Chapter 6 by Monday

2. Finish your color-coded, synthesis essay by Tuesday.

Outcome Goals:

1. Engage in reflective and collaborative writing in order to come to a deeper understanding of the plot and character motivations that are revealed in chapters 4 and 5.

First Thing:

1. Get Chromebook and take your Chapters 4 & 5 Gatsby quiz

2. Read The Great Gatsby

Agenda:

1. Form working pair groups

2. Have 1 person open the Gatsby/Daisy Diary Entries for Chapters 4 & 5 assignment, make a copy, and share the document with your partner.

3. In your pair groups, write four diary entries in the document—two as Daisy and two as Gatsby—using information from the scene in Chapter 4 that switches to Jordan Baker's narrative and begins with "One October day in 1919..." and then write another two that are written after chapter 5 has ended. Switch roles between partners so that each person writes for Gatsby once and for Daisy once.

4. Share out entries
