1. Read Chapters 8 through 11 by Friday

Outcome Goals:

1. Use AP sample papers, the rubric, and highlighting to assess your own windmill synthesis essay.

First Thing:

1. Get all of the handouts from up front: student sample papers and windmill specific synthesis rubric.

2. Address course selection for next year.

3. Pass out essays and get out highlighters

Agenda:

1. As a class, work on highlighting LL (8th) or A (1st) and on your own 8th (D) and 1st (L)

Pink—thesis/claims

Green—evidence

Blue—commentary

Yellow—context

2. Highlight and score your own essays.

3. Trade with a partner and determine level of agreement

4. Put essay materials in your class folder.
