Homework:

1. None

Outcome Goals:

1. Complete this week's vocabulary test.

2. Complete, turn in, and discuss the final question set for Between the World and Me.

3. Finish your Singer argument essay and analyze Emma Perkins' essay.

First Thing:

1. Complete and turn in the vocabulary test (you have 2 minutes).

2. Get a Chromebook

3. Paste in the final questions set (5, 6, and 7) from Between The World And Me Guided Reading & Discussion Questions and begin to read through them and consider your responses.

Agenda:

1. Take 5 minutes to write as thorough a response as you can to each question.

2. Form groups of 5 or more with the people around you and for the next 15 minutes, discuss your responses.

3. Turn in your Between The World And Me Guided Reading & Discussion Question to Google Classroom (if you aren't done, you have until Friday morning to turn them in—late work will not be accepted, so it's better to turn in a partial set than nothing at all)

4. Open your previous work with the Singer solution and compose it as an argument essay (20 minutes).

5.Get Emma Perkins' response to the Singer solution prompt and then complete annotations that rhetorically analyze for structure, content, and rhetorical technique.

6. Use your annotations, the argument rubric, and any other resources to create a reminder note card that you can use to guide your work on the timed essay that will occur on Friday.

7. If there is still time, you may peruse these other sample essays on the Singer solution and add to your note card.
