Yearlong Research Project
A major project this year will be the researched argument paper. For this paper, you will take a clear stance and make an argumentative case on a current social/political issue. The paper must be between 2,000 to 3,000 words in length and must use a minimum of five cited sources. We will use example essays from previous medal winners of the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards as mentor texts, and it is my strong hope that you will submit your essay to the contest next fall—I will send you an email reminder to do so. Additionally, the columnists and other texts that we that you have read throughout the year should inform both your style, topic, and approach to the paper.
Requirements:
NoodleTools project setup and continual updating of sources and notecards.
