The ED has single physician coverage and mid-level provider coverage during peak periods. The Beth Israel Deaconess Milton Hospital ED is staffed and managed by our team of Harvard faculty, attending physicians from BIDMC Boston. ED physicians are experts in treating critically ill patients and managing trauma. They are supported by emergency nurses dedicated to delivering high quality care. All Emergency Department nurses have earned and maintain specialized credentials that enable them to care for all types of emergency patients. These include advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), trauma nurse core course, and advanced training in the care of pediatric patients and their emergencies.
