Board Rounds

Team 1 and Team 3 participate in formal board rounds in the ED core work area at the following shift change times: 7a, 3p, 11p (except weekends where there is only 7a board rounds).

• Oncoming team and offgoing team are expected to be present during board rounds

• EM3 will run board signout and provide a “medical minute” of teaching at the beginning of rounds

• Board rounds only signs out the core and red zone patients at 3PM and 11PM. Attending-to-attending signout still needs to occur with your periphery patients.

• At 7AM the EM3 will do board rounds on the entire department.

• The only exception to board rounds is on the weekends when formal board rounds are held only at 7AM each day
