Commuting

Parking in the Longwood Medical Area can be tricky. BIDMC has come up with some options to try and ease the stress of driving into such a congested area. Employees who can use public transportation are encouraged to do so. BIDMC offers a generous subsidy to benefit eligible employees.

Parking

Most employees park at the Pilgrim Garage at 170 Pilgrim Road during their shift. See the BIDMC Intranet or speak with Commuter Services about monthly/yearly rates if needed. Otherwise, hourly rates are posted in front of the garage.

Employees can sign up with commuter services for pay-as-you-go parking which can be reimbursed pre-tax via CME up to a certain amount.

Employees working overnights or on weekends can park for free at BIDMC. Employees periodically working overnight or on a weekend can pull a ticket and show their ID to the parking attendant to exit at no charge.

Weeknight: in after 6pm and out before 10am in Shapiro, Pilgrim, and Main Garages

Weekend: in after 6pm Friday, out before Monday 10am in Shapiro and Pilgrim Garages Only. (Official Hospital Holidays are treated like a weekend.)

**When exiting after 10am garage rates will apply**

Biking

The medical center currently has enough bike racks to accommodate 102 bikes on the West Campus and 146 on the East Campus. BIDMC encourages its employees to bike to work by providing both bicycle racks and showers.
