Meetings
As of 2026, Hybrid (in-person and zoom) Faculty Meeting is held every first and third Wednesday of the month from 8a-8:45a before in-person M&M. In-person faculty meeting is typically held in the EM library, and breakfast is typically provided. Additional meetings will be called as needed. An agenda and call-in information will be sent out prior to every meeting. Faculty are expected to attend faculty meeting every month unless you are working or on vacation.
Morbidity & Mortality conference is held each Wednesday. On the first and third Wednesday of the month, M&M is held in-person in the Klarman building from 9a-10a in the 11th floor conference room. On the second and fourth weeks, M&M runs from 8a-9a virtually via Zoom. Faculty are expected to attend M&M conference every week unless you are working or on vacation.
Directions to Klarman Conference Room:
From the Klarman lobby (ground level), take the elevator up to the 11th floor, turn left and then right.
From the ER/EM Offices, you may go to the 3rd floor of the Rosenberg building and follows the signs for the sky bridge that connects to Klarman. You will see a small Klarman cafe, and then can take the elevators there to the 11th floor conference room.
Resident didactics are held every Wednesday from 9:30a-1:30p in Klarman 11. Faculty attendance is encouraged at resident didactics.
Simulation Sessions: There will occasionally be sim sessions that faculty can sign up to help teach. These occur in the Simulation Center in the Shapiro Building (East Campus) on the bottom floor (next to the Starbucks and ENT Offices). You will need your badge to access the Simulation Center.
Animal Lab: There are occasionally animal labs which you can sign up to help teach, which you can access by going through the East Campus cafeteria, up to the 3rd floor. It can be a bit of a maze to get to, so we recommend going as a group with the learners and other facilitator.
Performance Review
Attendings have an annual review with the department chair shortly after the beginning of the academic year. Prior to the review, the employee is asked to complete a self-assessment tool that covers their accomplishments, current and future research projects, and states the goals for the next year.
Performance reviews include clinical, academic, and non-clinical performance and is a contributing factor in calculating the Physician Incentive bonus each fiscal year.
