Tavern Games Guide

In the Taverns you can find an assortment of games that can be played.  You can either take your chances at the Tararquion Battles or try your luck at some Gambling.

Talk to Poker in Gurraldiy's Head in County Vurdaliya or Cardsharp in Mary's Tavern in Baurvil Hamlet. They will provide you with 3 types of games which you can gamble on. To gamble there you need to have some Marvellous Glass in your backpack. There are several methods to gather Marvelous Glass. For methods on how to receive glass visit: Hunters of Fortune Reputation.

If you lose a game your bet is lost. If you win however, you will receive the amount you bet back and the winnings.

Duel

It's similar to the game of Black Jack.  Below you will find all the cards that will be used while playing this game.  The objective is to get as close to 21 points as possible without going over. You win if you are closer to it than your opponent.

Face Value: 2

Face Value: 3

Face Value: 4

Face Value: 6

Face Value: 7

 Face Value: 8

Face Value: 9

Face Value: 10

Face Value: 11

How to Play

At the start you will be dealt a hand worth an amount of points anywhere between 3-20.

You have two options:

"Make a move":  choosing this option will deal another card. The face value of the new card is immediately added to your current points.  After you get your card you need to Evaluate the Situation. If you are still lacking in points you may make another move, but be careful - you don't want to go over 21.

"Pass the move to your Opponent": This will end the game. The opponent gets a chance to beat your score.

The total amount of points you and your opponent have will be displayed after the game ends.

Methods: A commonly used strategy is to only make a move if you have 12-13 points or less. Higher bets are usually recommended if you can take a loss of several games in a row without running out of glass.

Tribol

The game is played with 3 wooden cups and a marble. To play you have to place a bet and then simply select a cup under which you suspect the marble is hidden. There is no hints so there is no strategy and the chance to win is always 1 in 3.

Punk

Punk is by far the longest of the 3 games. It will also use the Cards that are shown further up in the Duel information.  But unlike Duel the value of the Royal Cards are not determined by their Face Value but their rank. As such, pulling a Royal Card will always beat a card of number value.  The rules in this game are simple. The person who takes all the cards wins the game.  But the options for who wins can swing in both directions.

Your Pack: 6

Opponents Pack: 6

How to Play

At the start each person will obtain 6 cards in there pack facing down.   After this you just simply click to make a move.  Doing so will take the top card of both packs and display them on the screen.  Whoever has the highest card wins that hand.  You will continue this until you have taken all the cards from your opponents or he takes yours.

Winning Rules: In the case of Value Cards who ever has the highest wins the hand.  But if you have a Royal Card in your hand then you will always beat any Face Value Card.  When pitting 2 Royal Cards against each other its the rank that determines the winner.  The ranks will go as thus from lowest to highest: Jack, Queen, King, and Ace.  Keep making a move until the game ends.  If you win you will take home much more than any of the other games.
