Artificial Organs and Prosthesis Capability in 2015
This essay sets out to quantify the ability to replace the damaged or defective organs, limbs and parts a Human in 2015.
It briefly catalogues the organic container of the Human and then compares the number of organs and limbs in the Human to current technological organ and prosthesis replacement potential to arrive at a potential replacement ratio of Artificial Replacement Organs or Prosthesis to Organic Human Parts.
The Organic Human

All are replaceable using natural rebuilding processes, inert metals, plastics and carbon fibers.
Possible replacement Sub total = 650
Number of Joints in a Human Being
100
Sub total = 100
There duration of use is approx.100 years.
They are also self-repairing and recyclable.
All are replaceable using natural rebuilding processes, inert metals, plastics and carbon fibers.
Possible replacement Sub total = 100
Number of Limbs in the Human Being
1 head, 4 limbs, 2 hands, 10 fingers, 2 feet and 10 toes
Sub total = 29
There duration of use is approx.100 years.
They are also self-repairing unless totally disconnected from the Human.
They are recyclable.
The head is not totally replaceable only repairable using natural rebuilding processes, inert metals, plastics and carbon fibers.
The other limbs are all are replaceable using natural rebuilding processes, inert metals, plastics and carbon fibers.
Possible replacement Sub total = 28
Number of Organs in a Human Being
Brain, Spinal cord, Cartoid Artery, Jugular Vein, Subclavian Artery, Superior Vena Carta, Aorta, Subclavian Vein, Heart, Lungs, Diaphragm, Liver, Stomach, Gall Bladder, Kidneys, Pancreas, Small intestine / ileum, Large intestine / colon, Appendix, Bladder, Popliteal Artery, Popliteal Vein, Sexual organs (male and female combined total), Skin, Blood vessels and Nerve cells.
Sub total = 39
Sub total including the length of the blood vessels = 60,000 miles + 39 = 60,039
Sub total including the length of the blood vessels and nerve cells = 60,000 miles + 13,000 + 39 = 73,039
There duration of use is approx.100 years.
They are also self-repairing unless totally disconnected from the Human.
They are recyclable.
Some of the organs are only partially replaceable
The Human Brain is only partially replaceable by remote sensing systems.
The Spinal cord is only partially replaceable by remote sensing systems.
The Cartoid Artery is only partially replaceable by donor material over artificial membranes.
The Jugular Vein is only partially replaceable by donor material over artificial membranes.
The Subclavian Artery is only partially replaceable by donor material over artificial membranes.
The Superior Vena Cartais only partially replaceable by donor material over artificial membranes.
The Aorta is only partially replaceable by donor material over artificial membranes.
The Subclavian Vein is only partially replaceable by donor material over artificial membranes.
The Popliteal Artery is only partially replaceable by donor material over artificial membranes.
The Popliteal Vein is only partially replaceable by donor material over artificial membranes.
The Blood vessels are only partially replaceable by donor material over artificial membranes.
The Nerve cells are only partially replaceable by donor material over artificial membranes or linking to remote sensors.
The remaining organs can be replaced by natural rebuilding processes, artificial replacement organs using inert metals, plastics and carbon fibers with external rechargeable power packs.
Possible replacement Sub total = 34
Possible replacement Sub total including the length of the blood vessels = 1 miles + 34 = 35
Possible replacement Sub total including the length of the blood vessels and nerve cells = 1 + 1 + 34 = 36
Number of senses in a Human Being
5 main external to internal environment senses.
At least 22 other internal environment senses.
Sub total = 27
There duration of use is approx.100 years.
They are not self-repairing when damaged.
They are not recyclable.
The senses are all are replaceable using inert metals, plastics, carbon fibers and remote sensing technology with external rechargeable power packs.
Possible replacement Sub total = 27
Total Number of Human Parts
= 20,068
= 153,146 including blood vessels and nerve cells
Total Number of Artificial Replacement Organs or Prosthesis.
= 20,133 including blood vessels and nerve cells
Conclusion
There is a potential replacement ratio of Artificial Replacement Organs or Prosthesis to Organic Human Parts
= 20,133 to 153,146
= 1 to 8
Therefore only one part in 8 of the total Organic, Mass, Energy, Mass Human is currently replaceable with artificial means.
The weak areas of replacement are in the head, brain, organs, blood vessels, nervous system, sensory data storage, Mind, Self and Consciousness.
