Article 095 - Work

Work

What is the nature and focus of work, employment, on Earth.?

If the work sectors and the largest employers status are examined several interesting conclusions can be established.

The World’s largest employment sectors are

Service Industries = 42.2 % of the labor force of the planet

Agriculture = 34.5 % of the labor force of the planet

Industry = 22.7 % of the labor force of the planet

The Total World employment

Population in 2013 = 7,095,217,980

Labor force in 2012 = 3,305,000,000

Total percentage of population working = 46%

Conclusions

Just below half of the World Population works.

Historically humans form pyramid societies. One or more in charge ordering the daily life and survival of others by control of resources, energy and environment.

The same social hierachy controls the values of the society and its order by fixing tasks for all parts of it to carry out. This is called ‘Work’.

The principle of Work is that one persons work benefits the whole population.

Therefore all must work to ‘earn’ the right to live in a human society.

Welfare provision, from the wages paid to the workers, to assist all of the population is a product of work. Welfare controls the revolutionary nature of the society through the provision of needs.

Without needs nothing is required to change and so the society hierachy remains in place.

The idea of employment is therefore a major influence on humans and on the planet they inhabit.

The order of purpose in human employment is first to be Service Industries then agricultural then industrial. This order again acknowledges the principal of the human need for co-operation to optimize survival of the maximum number of people. It encourages ways of assisting other people or processes.

The pyramid structure to society has existed for thousands of years. It is however going to change. The Earth is about to enter a new period in its history. The age after the use of fossil fuels.

The age of depletion. The age of climate change. The age of human society working to preserve their survival not create and consume all their wants and desires can imagine.

The employment sector breakdown indicates that the focus of future human evolution is ignoring these changes to the pyramid of society. In the context of an increasing World population this emphasis is a potential catastrophic miss-judgment for the future of humanity.

The order of work must change. Agriculture must become the main work focus of the planet by combining with the service industry sector. This allows control of the use of resources, energy and environment and so climate change.

Taking the financial status of the World’s largest employers into consideration.

The largest employer on Earth exists is in an economic deficit economy.

The second largest employer on Earth is in a partial growth economy.

These employers are not operated to make profit. Their purpose is to prepare for armed conflict or to reduce population numbers through armed conflict.

They are not focused on producing any product that stabilizes or enhances the depleting resources of the Earth or increases its food and water supplies.

The work focus of these first two employers is based on a paranoid, destructive, ethic.

The third, fourth and fifth largest employers on Earth are flourishing retailers of manufactured goods, foodstuffs and publicly funded health care systems.

They are also not operated to make profit. They are operated to draw money from the population and then to give them products that stabilize and enhance the depleting resources of the Earth, increase food and water supplies and produce healthy people.

They are examples of the way World employment can be sustainable by being focused on a positive, constructive, ethic.

The ethic of survival is in all of the top five employers on Earth.

It is apparent that this survival work ethic is only successful in its non-destructive form.

In order to cope with a move away from fossil fuel use and climate change the paranoid, destructive ethic must be replaced with a productive, constructive ethic to assist the population of the Earth to survive.

This could be achieved by moving the focus of the two largest employers away from defense and attack towards the production of energy, the gathering of resources and the construction of new resources and environments.

This could be facilitated by linking the military facilities to nano-technology development that can seek out new resources and expand human survival potential.

One such survival potential using this would be in off planet resource gathering.

The future world is therefore one coping with increasing depletion by creating new resources, environments and energy out of anything using a nano-technology industrial base formed from the older, redundant defense and military work sectors.
