2021 Bond Table

Shown in the chart and table are broad categorizations of the projects across the two bond issues on the ballot. Precise dollar amounts in ballot-language categories are in the state-mandated Bond Transparency Act notice.

Further breakdowns within some categories:

Within the facility projects figure, about 30% is for the expanded entry, lobby, and offices at Kane elementary and about 30% is for the same type of project at Wilson Elementary. About 6% is for digital clocks at all sites except BHS (which is already equipped), with the remainder split across the remaining sites with the high school and middle schools each receiving about 6% and the other elementary schools receiving 2-5% each.

Within the technology figure, over 1/3 is for Chromebooks, iPads, and their licenses, about 1/3 is for software and services (both curricular and administrative), and the remaining 1/3 covers cellular hot spots, refreshing desktop computers, monitors and corridor displays, repairs, and federal E-rate matching funds for network infrastructure such as switches.

Within the curricular figure, 2/3 is for electronic and physical textbooks, 1/4 is for STEM, and the remainder for library books and laboratory science equipment.

Within the athletics figure, about 30% is for a baseball batting facility at Doenges Stadium, 30% for a softball/golf practice facility at the softball field near Madison Middle School, 15% for visitor seating at Custer stadium, and the remainder split between replacement of the Doornbos Track at Custer Field and athletic equipment.

Within the maintenance figure, the majority funds $700,000 in maintenance projects across all sites by Sodexo in 2023-24 and again in 2024-25, with additional roofing, asphalt, and site update work.

The transportation question would fund band box trucks and replacement of its semi-tractor and trailer as well as a few sport utility vehicles to transport small groups. The route bus fleet will not need additional modernizing until a projected 2023 bond issue.

Within the fine arts figure is about 30% for band instruments, 23% for auditorium lighting, risers, chairs, etc., 20% for performing music equipment, 14% for orchestra instruments and equipment, and the remainder for percussion needs.

Safety enhancements include protective window film in key storm refuge areas.

WE DELIVER ON WHAT WE PROMISE

The district will continue to invite a Bond Oversight Committee of concerned citizens to review and inspect what the district accomplishes with each bond issue. See the Progress as Promised updates on past projects.
