Founded in 1929, Yung-Ning Elementary School (YNPS) has stood as a warm and welcoming learning community for nearly a century. As we approach our 95th anniversary in 2025, we take pride in our name, "永寧" (Yung-Ning), meaning "PEACEFUL FOREVER," a reflection of our commitment to fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Nestled in Wuqi, Taichung, YNPS is rooted in a region once renowned for duck farming, earning it the affectionate nickname "Ahbuliao" (Ducks' Houses). Over time, as agriculture declined and the local population shifted, our student body has evolved. Today, we are home to 309 students across 14 classes, with 10% of our students coming from Vietnam, Indonesia, China, the Philippines, and beyond. This beautiful blend of cultures enriches our school and offers invaluable opportunities for global learning.
At YNPS, we embrace our students' diverse backgrounds and strive to connect past traditions with future possibilities. Through thoughtfully designed curricula, we help students appreciate their heritage while fostering a global perspective. By celebrating cultural diversity and meaningful exchanges, we empower our students to grow into compassionate, open-minded citizens of the world.
