Happy Global Village - A Cultural Encounter with Vietnam!
Class 603 had a wonderful cultural exchange with students from Tan Cuong Primary School in northern Vietnam. To prepare for the event, Principal Peng personally delivered a speech in English, wishing everyone a fruitful and joyful exchange.
Guess Who? A Warm-Up Game About Countries
The event started with a fun "Guess the Country" Yes/No game. Students had to figure out the answer step by step through their questions. Both sides quickly guessed the correct answers!
A Peek into School Life
Next, students from both schools took turns introducing their school life. We discovered that Vietnamese primary students, like us, have busy daily schedules filled with classes. After presenting, Yongning students prepared three fun questions to test their Vietnamese peers' listening skills. The Vietnamese students not only listened attentively but also answered every question correctly! The room erupted in applause—what an amazing performance!
Cultural Exchange: Tea Leaves Meet Mazu
The highlight of the event was the cultural exchange! The Vietnamese students introduced the unique "Tea Festival" from northern Vietnam, sharing the significance of tea culture in their country and how the festival boosts local tourism. Meanwhile, Yongning students presented the special "Mazu Pilgrimage" tradition from Taiwan’s coastal areas, explaining Mazu’s role in Taiwanese life and the cultural meaning of the “Bridge Blessing” ritual. Both groups of students listened intently and demonstrated impressive memory during the Q&A session. Once again, the Vietnamese students answered every question correctly, earning our admiration for their focus and enthusiasm!
A Heartwarming Chorus Across the Screen
As the event came to a close, everyone sang the touching song Proud of You together through their screens. In that moment, the joy and friendship between the students from both countries lit up their faces, creating a warm and lovely atmosphere to end the day.
Reflections from Class  603
The students from Class 6B shared their amazement at discovering the deep tea culture shared by Vietnam and Taiwan, as well as learning that Vietnam's land area is much larger than Taiwan’s. They also felt proud to introduce the history of their local Duck Mother Temple to the Vietnamese students, considering it a meaningful and special experience.
Every international exchange requires great effort from both teachers and students, from preparation to execution. To deliver the best presentations, the students not only practiced repeatedly but also gained a deeper understanding of their hometown’s unique features, strengthening their sense of cultural identity. Through this exchange with their Vietnamese peers, they expanded their international perspective and enriched their life experiences. These precious memories will stay in their hearts forever.
