Global Village of Joy – Exploring the World of Fairy Tales with Our Friends in Florida

This international exchange activity brought us to the Center for Creative Education in Florida, USA. Through videos, our third-grade class connected with their American buddies, getting to know each other and asking curious questions. The American students were especially intrigued by the green mats on our desks, asking if they could draw on them. Meanwhile, our Yung Ning students had practical questions like, "Do you have a library in your school?" and "Are your teachers strict?"

In addition, both schools agreed to explore two classic fairy tales—Cinderella and Yeh Shen. We each put a creative spin on these stories to share with each other. Our friends in the U.S. performed each scene through expressive movements, while our students drew every character and scene by hand, taking turns narrating the story. The final video was edited and shared with our American buddies as a creative gift from Yung Ning.

The American teacher replied, expressing how much they loved our project and especially admiring how each child played an important role in the storytelling, showing true teamwork.

A special thank you to Teachers Yingjun, Xinfu, and Yuhua for their guidance and support, helping our students complete every step of this exchange. We’re excited for more fun and enriching cultural exchange activities to come this semester!
