What IS Raku? What is the basic process of a Raku firing? A low-firing process where the pottery is removed from the kiln while at bright red heat then placed into containers with combustible materials.
What is the danger to your clay during a Raku firing? Each and every piece has a risk of being cracked because of the thermal stress each piece goes through during the firing process.
What is the danger to the people firing a Raku kiln? Since the kilns aren’t very stable there are more possibilities for burns and injuries to occur.
