Purpose:
To learn about the career of a visual effects artist;
To learn how mythology inspires a variety of designs;
To use Photoshop tools to alter and morph animals in a number of ways that build upon basic skills.
Felk
Fennec Fox + Elk
Fheep
Beta Fish + Sheep
I made my work look somewhat professional by using the blur tool and opacity to add depth, and blending to create transitions between the two animals. Additionally, adding an overlay over the entire image can create a sense of cohesively. I tried to add lighting and shadows that would match the environment, and make my new animal look more realistic. I added things to the environment around them to make things more realistic, for example, adding and fox head to the same animal in the background so that it's more believable, or adding bubbles to match the vibe of the beta fish. Overall I think that I did an okay job, but I should've spent more time on tiny details to make the images realistic.
