What surprised you?
I was surprised that the Photographers traveled over 1 million miles and the amount of pictures that the National Geographic magazine published in a year. (over 1,000) It also surprised me how some photographs can communicate so much with a single image. It also surprised me that they could take only one good shot in a couple of weeks and how rewarding that was for them.
What did you find interesting?
I found it interesting that the photographer who was on the plane that had to make an emergency landing kept taking pictures, even through the panic. Additionally, how patient you have to be to wait for the perfect moment to capture in a photograph is very fascinating to me. The relationships you make and the people you meet from around the world are such a big part of being a photographer and that's something I wasn't really considering. Seeing how photographers consider so many different factors when taking pictures was also super intriguing.
Is this a career you would choose? Why or why not?
I think that this is a career I might consider because photographers get to travel the world, take pictures, and experience things that normal jobs might not allow you to do. I love the idea of having a picture I've taken published and appreciated by people who also care about the art form. I think that being a National Geographic photographer would be such a fun job.
