How has photography evolved over the last few hundred years to the present?
It has advanced from Camera Obscura (400 BCE), to film cameras, to digital cameras (1975), as well as improvements in general technology such as switching from black and white to color.
In what ways does photography help you understand the lives of people of different times, places, and cultures?
Photography acts as a window into other people's lives and experiences. It can give you insight into these worlds that a written description might not be able to do. It can represent different cultures and lives.
How does analyzing the understanding the history of photography, along with well-known photographers over time influence the way in which you create your own photographs?
Understanding the techniques and the thought that goes into each photograph greatly affects my mindset when taking photos. Additionally, finding the aspects of photos I really like and trying to find a way of replicating that feeling in my own pictures.
