Purpose:
To demonstrate understanding of the structure for each of YOUR features: eyes, nose, & mouth;
To practice using black & white charcoal to render a drawing, using brown paper as the middle value
Look closely at your eyes, nose, and mouth drawings, as you also look in the mirror. As you begin your final self portrait, what are some things you need to work on, improve, and/or pay attention to with regards to your features? How might you get the features to really resemble yours?
I think my eyes are the least accurate because the iris isn't as dark as it needs to be, and my waterline needs to cover the bottom of my iris since there isn't a gap between my waterline and my iris in real life. I also think that the tip of my nose is more rounded since the one I drew looks flat. My nostrils aren't as visible and aren't that dark unless you're looking directly up my nose. Lastly, I would work more on getting the general shape of my lips before I start shading. The end of my lips turns upwards, not downwards, which is something I messed up.
