TRAPPED PART THREE

March 13, 2020

By Desmond O.

We swirl around and we see devil-cat-lion things, who are growling at us. “RUN!” I say. I quickly dart over to the table with all of the vials and dump all of them into the purse I found. Then, we find an open window and dart out of it, as the devil-felines chase after us.

Cloe quickly uses the walkie talkie to communicate to Rose and Addison, and she says, frantically, “Cloe to Rose and Addison, do you read?,” Silence.

Then, out of the blue, we hear what seems to be Rose’s voice. “We hear you, do you copy?,” she responds.

“Yes, we do, and there are devil-felines chasing us!,” I respond. I then reach into the purse and pull out a vial that I quickly swept into the purse before we left and chuck it at the creatures. The vial breaks, and as if in slow motion, the vial makes them disappear. We then walk back to the latch we started at and meet up with Rose and Addison.

“Rose and Addison, did you guys see anything?” I say.

“Yes! We did, we found a fence!” Rose says.

“It seemed to be protected with some sort of energy,” Rose replies.

“Wait, I didn’t sense anything, what’s that about?” Addison responds, shocked.

“I guess I can sense energies,” Rose said.

“Let’s keep looking around,” I say.

Artemis points out that she hasn’t been included, and shrugs.

We looked around, and suddenly, Rose shouts, “DUCK!!”

Then, the devil cats reappeared, jumped down on us from a hill behind our group, and chased us through the forest and onto a cliff edge.

“Somebody, HELP, we’re About to DIE!” Addison and I scream.

Out of nowhere, a humanlike being appears.

“Hello! My name is Caeruleum! Do you require assistance?” she said. She had aqua-colored hair with a white headband and blue demon horns. She was wearing a jacket and pants that were turquoise with buttons down the middle of her shirt and pants with black boots.

“YES!” I frantically shout.”We’re trapped on this cliff edge and there are demon-cats chasing us!”

“Ok, just a sec,” she replied.

All of a sudden, a purpley-black portal appeared at the bottom of the cliff.

“ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!” Cloe screams. “WE HAVE TO JUMP!?”

“I’m afraid so,” Caeruleum said. “It was the only place I could put a portal.”

“Ok, here goes nothing,” Rose says.

She jumps, screams and disappears into the portal.

“Well… I guess I’ll go next...” I quietly say.

I jump into the portal and…

Stay tuned for chapter four.

FREE

March 13, 2020

By Jeffrey S. and Hayden E.

This the story of how he was free, then not free.

Do you ever get the feeling when you're in jail? This is how he felt. He didn’t commit a crime. He just feels like he’s in jail. But he really has a pleasant life. In fact he is very wealthy, but he still feels trapped. This is not a really fun story, but it is a deep and sincere story about his life. He doesn’t have any diseases that make him feel like he is in jail. He doesn't even have any people that make him feel trapped. In fact he doesn’t even know why he feels trapped. He is just trapped in his thoughts. He feels trapped in his thoughts because he has no one to talk to. I wouldn’t say that he was lonely, but he trusted no one.

He trusted no one because when he was a kid he had a tragic incident. He was on a plane crash and he got stuck on an island. You would think that if he was on a solitary island he would be lonely. He was not. He was friends with the animals and plants. He liked to play in the waterfalls of the island, and he also liked to splash in the waves with the dolphins, climb and hang on vines with the gorillas. He considered fire and water a living thing. He got food from things like his friends (the animals and plants), but when he did, he made ceremonies to honor them. He never killed an animal without doing something in return. He also held a ceremony for those that had not stayed alive in the crash. Of course no one was there except for the plants and animals, but it was still an honorable festival.

Since lots of time has passed since he was in the crash, he still doesn't really remember it. He thinks that he was knocked unconscious, and fell onto some place soft like the sand, or stuck in vines. He doesn't remember the moment all that well but he does remember a rainbow being the first thing that greeted him. This is when he decided that he would make friends with the plants, animals, and spirits. It was almost as if the rainbow revived him and comforted him. He made the rainbow one of his best friends after that.

The second thing he saw was a waterfall which also was his friend too. The plane ride was not something he remembered very well. He also doesn't remember what he was doing on a plane. All he knew was that he had a woman and two men in the plane (one of the men must have been the pilot). He doesn't remember his family being on the plane, nor does he even remember them whatsoever. He thinks he maybe had a baby sister, but couldn't quite grasp the memory. It is hard for him to remember anything when he is alone and without people to talk to he often cries.

He never even tried to get off the island. He also did not have any enemies, everyone was his friend (the plants and animals). If a shark or something tried to hurt him, he just took it as a misunderstanding. Because a lot of the time he ate his friends (the plants and animals) he never kept leftovers. He didn’t keep the leftovers to honor his friends.

He didn't have any way to explain his feelings. He did cry, but he didn’t know why. He thinks he felt depressed, but he didn’t know what being depressed felt like, since he has never been told what it feels like. He also never knew how to talk. He just thought everything he was looking at understood him. He doesn't wish he could talk because there is no real need to talk to spirits or animals. He also didn’t have any money because there is nothing he needs to buy. He has everything he needs at his disposal. Well not like the newest technology or anything just like food and water. He also didn’t have one place on the island he considered his home every night he would go to a different spot, but how he will get off is a mystery. Will he ever be free though?

Top TEN MeMES

March 13, 2020

By Jeffrey S. and Hayden E.

We selected these memes because each one was extremely funny, and we thought our readers would enjoy them. Jeffrey's favorite is the first one, because he never makes any new year resolutions. Hayden's favorite is the "rock paper scissors" joke. Be sure to look out for both in the video below. If you don't agree with our choices, be sure to vote in next week's meme poll.

Review: SvenGoolie

March 13, 2020

By Anthony V.

Do you have METV at home? Do you watch TV at 8:00 PM? Do you like classic horror movies?

If so you should watch Svengoolie! Svengoolie is a show on METV that showcases old horror movies and puts some comedy into them. Svengoolie.com is a link that will take you to svengoolie.com where you can find previews for this weekend's movie.

Neil G. says,” I enjoy Svengoolie because I grew up watching them and I remember watching them at the Main St. Theater in Phillipsburg NJ.

Recently, the show featured the original Invisible Man. The host made corny jokes that added to the cheesy nature of the old attempt at scaring the audience. Svengoolie is a 9/10 way to be entertained!

Review: World of Warships

March 13, 2020

By Miles O.

World Of Warships is a naval action MMO where you can command warships in naval battles during the first half of the twentieth century. You will need to employ tactics and strategies to ensure victory on the battlefield. You can command many types of ships including battleships, aircraft carriers, cruisers, and destroyers. If are interested in getting the game, when you get home go to http://worldofwarships.com/ the game is free to play. You shouldn't play games in school!

Here is my opinion about the game. I enjoy the games graphics and playstyle and the overall experience. I also enjoy the variety of the many different ships. I also enjoy the diversity with the different classes of ships.

Overall I highly recommend the game and my favorite ship so far is the USS South Carolina. I hope you can enjoy the game in the same way.
