Top Five HalloweEN Accidents To Avoid

Top 1: Tripping over your costume in a crowd: this is very common and very hilarious unless it happens to you.

Top 2: Getting lost: imagine getting lost and thinking you found your group but, then its just random strangers.

Top 3: Dropping all your Halloween candy: this can happen a lot and if there are people around you it can be a free pinata.

Top 4: Messing up your costume: so, you’re walking through the streets and you slip on mud and ruin your costume. Wow.

Top 5: Not trick or treating: WHAT, FREE CANDY, FREE CHOCOLATE, ITS ALL FREE, for you anyway :).

The Elemential PArt THREE

“Why did I even come to school today?” Evalyn whined.

“Because,” Scarlett replied.

“Because why?”

“Because you’re my best friend and the only person I have to walk to school with.”

“You have a point.”

Evalyn and Scarlett separated to get their stuff from their lockers. Evalyn had 4th, 7th, and 9th period with Scarlett. Otherwise, she didn’t see her very much. Evalyn had math first period: her second favorite subject. Science was her first. Evalyn grabbed her math book, folder, and notebook from her locker and closed it.

Down the hall was the school’s football team, who had just finished one of their practices. The coach has them on crazy schedules. Too crazy for Evalyn to ever remember. They were very loud. Like, divide a concert’s volume level by 50 loud. They’re just talking too but very loudly. The teachers don’t even complain. Anyway, Evalyn didn’t care. She just walked to math class.

They were doing algebra today. Algebra wasn’t really that hard for Evalyn. It just came naturally. So did the rest of math. The hour and ten minutes of math went by quickly. Soon, she had history, then language arts, and finally, lunch. That was the only time she was able to actually speak to Scarlett besides the mornings, after school, and on the weekends. She had class all the other times. Evalyn walked into the cafeteria and got her lunch. She quickly spotted Scarlett and sat down.

“Hey Scar.”

“Hey Evie.”

“I really hope Mrs. Vancouver doesn’t yell at me. I mean, just writing that report will put you right to sleep.”

“It’s ok Evie. Remember, you’re one of her best students.”

“More like worst student. I can barely even right a sentence. How am I ever supposed to pass her class? I barely past 9th grade.”

“She sees potential in you Evie. She knows you can write an essay or a TDA. You just gotta try.”

“Well, I guess I’m just gonna have to try again tonight.”

“That’s the spirit. Now, tell me how hard your math class was.”

~In Honor of Anti-Bullying Week~

You. You are an inspiration to yourself and many others. When someone calls you a name, or says they’re better than you, you don’t get mad. You show them what you can do! When someone calls you a nerd, don’t be mad just say, “So what? Isn’t that a good thing? I might not be cool or popular like you, at least I’ll be able to get a higher education.” You don’t need fancy clothes, shoes, or popularity. All you need is you, teachers, and friends to help you succeed. A pretty face, nice clothes, the latest phone, and fancy shoes don't help you succeed! If you want to be that one cool kid in school, the one that gets invited to all the parties, and never gets picked last in gym or recess activities then think again. The grass isn’t always greener on the other side. Anyone you meet might have abusive parents, or parents they barely get to interact with, someone in their family who is sick. You never know what someone else is going through. Just know that you should be grateful for what you have, whether that is a loving family, or a roof over your head, or friends, or food on the table, or a good education.

The Book Jumpers

Sabrina couldn’t wait. Today was the last day of school, and she and her friends were going for a long bike ride after the last bell. Sabrina, a tall, petite blonde, was not exactly the athletic type. Her friends, however, were and got her into bike riding. Jared and Jax, her guy best friends, are twins and are really into sports. Cleo couldn’t care less.

She went to every class on time and tried her hardest to not get a detention. By this time, she was in her 9th period class, the last one of the day. Mrs. Moon was the meanest teacher, and you had to be skilled to not make her temper bomb explode.

Jax and Cleo were in this class with her, but the teacher didn’t know they were all friends, so she made the mistake of seating them all next to each other. All they did was talk, and it only took the second interruption for Mrs. Moon to go off.

“Sabrina, Jax, and Cleo! How many times do I need to tell you? Stop talking during class, or its detention for all of you!” That was all it took to get the trio to shut their traps.

Once the final bell rang indicating school was finally over, They rushed out to meet Jared. They found him by all of their bikes, reading a strange book. It was called Meine Mutter ist eine Mörderin. My Mother is a Murderer. Jared was weird like that.

Once they all got on their bikes, Sabrina led the way. Their parents knew of the plans, so they were able to stay out late enough to ride in the dark. That is why Sabrina picked the longest path possible: under the bridge and through the woods. They started towards the bridge because it was the first stop on their ride. It was so far away, however, that it got dark by the time they got there.

Once they got to the bridge, they dropped their bikes to take a break. They sat down on a pile of boulders and drank some water. Just as they were about to get back on their bikes, Cleo pointed something out.

“What is that you’re sitting on, Sabrina?”

“Cleo, it’s just a pile of rocks! Honestly, how stupid?” Sabrina replied snarkily.

“Yeah, no kidding you’re sitting on rocks. I think she meant the glowing thing under the pile of rocks.” Jax replied just as sarcastic.

Since Jared wasn’t paying attention, he looked up from his book just as confused as Sabrina was.

She stood up with all of her friends behind her and dug up all the rocks. Underneath the rubble was a book. There were words on the cover in a foreign language, no doubt the title of the book.

“Bring mich zur Geschichte” The four friends said in perfect unison. All of a sudden, a faint, blue light started shining from the edges of the book, like a corona. A quiet hissing could be heard, and that was when Sabrina dropped the book. It landed on its spine, opened to page four.

Then the hissing stopped, the light was gone, and so were Sabrina, Jax, Jared, and Cleo.

The Land of the Purehearted

Part One

Once upon a time there was a girl, and her name was Rose. She was beautiful, pure, kind, and she even helped the old and the children too. All her life, Rose heard the tales about The Land of the Purehearted. The story of this land is that only people with a pure hearted are allowed to enter.

Rose said to her father, ’’When will I be old enough to go to the island where The Land of the Purehearted is?’’

With no answer they keep walking for four minutes. Finally, father said́, “The hieroglyphics state you must be 18; no more, no less. Some people say some campers went off to go to the land of pure hearted, but they never returned. Since then, no one has ever seen them again. I do not want that to happen to you.”

“How old were they, 19? Father, let me go now before it's too late and I turn 19. Please, father,” Rose widened her eyes to convince her father.

“No, I lost your mother there I won't lose you there too.”

Rose gasped.

“You’ve been lying to me my whole life ,you told me my mom left!”

“Shhh...uhmmmm.”

“What are you trying to say!?”

“What I am trying to say is that you can go, on one condition. You must go with someone.”

“But it will take weeks to find someone,” Rose complained.

“Well, you better start looking.”

“But what if the companion I pick is not purehearted?”

“Do not be wary. You have family there.”

“How do you know?”

“I went there before,” sighed father,

“That's impossible! Once you go in, you can not come out,” Rose replied.

“I broke the rules. Enough talk, go search for a companion. I love you.”

“Right back at you.”

So, Rose set off to find someone worthy. She had a lot to do. She had to pack and find a companion. While she thought about what to do first, she heard a noise.

Rose said, “Who is there?”

A very high pitched voice said, “Hi.” The person came out of the shadows and it was Dawn, Rose's best friend.

Rose quickly made a decision, “Dawn, I have a surprise.”

“What is it is it? A puppy?” Dawn joked.

“No, but it is an adventure.”

"Yay! Well then, where we going?" Dawn replied.

"We're going to the land of purehearted," Rose declared.

The next day was filled as the girls gathered all the things they needed for the trip, including cans of water, sleeping bags, a carriage, horses, a tent, flashlights and food.

Then, two girls set off to the danger and the unknown. Dawn told her father goodbye and gave him a big hug.

REVIEW: HALLOWEEEN HAUNT

Are you a brave soul looking to be frightened to the maximum? Did you say yes? If so then Halloween Haunt is the place for you belong!

From the not so helpful doctors of Urgent Scare to the vicious creatures of Blackout Halloween Haunt has thrilling monsters, clowns, and haunted houses! Halloween Haunt offers 7 haunted houses including Blackout, Chamber Of Horrors, Necropolis, CornStalkers, Blood on the Bayou, Urgent Scare, Blackout, and Trick Or Treat Lights Out! All of these attractions offer Fright Lane which is only exclusive to Halloween Haunt, a special event at Dorney Park.

Halloween Haunt offers 2 new walk through attractions and they are The Lair and SteamworX. Besides that there is still Carn-Evil. This walkthrough includes clowns, lots of them! Art Teacher Mrs. Moyer states ”I am a big chicken so I do not go to haunt, but I do love seeing the decorations. They are amazing and a lot of artistic talent goes into the displays. I would love to help with the displays some day when I retire. It would really be COOL!!!”

My Personal favorite happens to be at the peak of Steel Force and it is called Necropolis! This is a graveyard that includes dead monsters who rose up from the dead to haunt the living! This is my favorite because of the scenery and it involves “Scary” monsters! Don’t be afraid to go in it because it isn’t that bad! Makenna S. states that she is scared by “the fog and the haunted houses!! well.... Sometimes!!”

Haunt happens weekends from 6pm-12am ! Haunted houses open at 7:30pm! The Overlords Execution takes place at 7:00pm! That is basically the opening ceremony! They consists of a stage, the overlord, and the Skull Squad! The Overlords Execution takes place on the stage right by the Hydra Entrance! Don’t be afraid! See you there!

WORD AND SPEECH TRICK
