PUMPKIN ROLL RECIPE

Ingredients

Batter:

4 eggs
1 ¼ cup sugar
2 teaspoons of cinnamon
1 cup flour
1 ¼ teaspoon baking soda
1 cup canned pumpkin
1 cup walnuts or pecans (optional)

Filling:

8 ounces of cream cheese
4 tablespoons of butter
1 cup confectioner’s sugar
½ teaspoon vanilla extract

**A jelly roll pan is needed for this recipe**

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Beat eggs and sugar together for 2 minutes.
Add to egg mixture the pumpkin, cinnamon, flour, and the baking soda.
Grease the pan with butter. Then, put a piece of wax paper on the jelly roll pan and butter it.
Pour batter in the pan and sprinkle with chopped nuts.
Bake for 20-25 minutes.
For the filling cream together the cream cheese, butter, confectioner’s sugar, and vanilla extract.
Sprinkle the dish towel with the confectioner's sugar, flip onto the towel and roll, let it cool (make sure to roll with the towel!)
When cooled, unroll and spread with filling, roll again, place seam side down, and sprinkle with confectioner’s sugar.

The Haunted Garage

Ring, ring, ring.

Oh, it's Jonny! "What’s up?"

Jonny asks, "You want to come over and do an overnight challenge at my house with Logan, Jack, William, Zack, and Me?"

I said, "Sure! I will be over in 10 minutes." As soon as I arrived at Jonny’s house, Jonny told me what the challenge was.

Jonny said, “ You may not be thrilled, but we're all sleeping in my haunted garage for my youtube channel.” I was so freaked out! I didn’t even know that his garage was haunted. At the time, it was 5:00 p.m, and we had to enter the garage at 8:00pm. For the next 3 hours, we played Fortnite, and then we set up a fort in Jonny’s garage. We brought my Xbox , Jonny’s Nintendo, Logan’s laptop, Jack’s iphone , and William’s PS4. Our timer was set for 8:00 p.m. As it ticked and ticked, lower and lower, my heart was in shock. Ding, ding, ding! It was time to enter the garage.

As we entered the garage, I thought we would be able to keep the lights on, but Jonny said, "No way! We are going to keep the lights off."

We went into our fort, but we were too scared to game so we just had our flashlights on. We were fine until 12:57 p.m when we heard three bumps that sounded like, BOOM, BOOM, BOOM!

At that moment, we were so scared that our hearts felt like they were going to beat right out of our chests, but surprisingly, we all fell asleep in about three minutes. When we woke up, it was 3:00 a.m. We heard a toolbox fall over, and somthing scratching on the garage doors. All at once, our fort was lifted up and destroyed!

We all ran for the door to get out of the haunted garage, but as we opened the door to the hallway, there stood a little girl dressed in a white dress. She had long black hair drooping over her face, and she was holding a teddy bear. Her head was facing down, and she didn’t move at all.
"Um... hello?" we said, tenatively.

Just then, her head turned sideways and she crawled toward us. We had to make a choice - run past her, or run back into the haunted garage? We all scattered. William, Logan, and I ran back into the garage, and Jonny, Zack, and Jack ran past the possessed girl, I assume.

After that fiasco, the next thing we knew, it was 3:33, the devils minute. Logan, William, and I collapsed to the ground, we were awake, but it was like our bodies were asleep. Jonny, Jack, and Zack ran back into the haunted garage and found us. They tried to figure out what was wrong, and Jonny read online that when your body is asleep and only your head is awake, it means that there is a demon nine inches from you, just watching you. We all were so scared, that we prayed that we would make it out alive. Somehow, we all went to sleep and in the morning we were all alive and okay, even though it had been the worst day of our lives.

THe Animals At Night

ONLINE SCHOOL IS THE WORST

Hi! My name is Hania, and I am going to tell you that online school is the worst (and I think that’s a fact). It all started when a virus (Corona) came to our city... oh yeah, forgot to tell you, I live in New York...sorry forgot where I was...oh yeah, so the virus came spread all over NY (sigh).....and the schools had to be closed.

I used to love school, but now...online school made it really hard because I kept getting kicked out and everything went laggy. I couldn’t understand the teacher and didn’t know what to do.

I’m pretty hungry so I’m going to take a little snack, be back in a few minutes!

I'm back… now...where was I again?..... Anyway, the teachers started noticing the students kept their videos off and when it was their turn to talk, they wouldn’t respond. It all got so annoying, so the teachers made a new rule to keep the students' videos on. It was hard and frustrating because we watched a screen for 6 hours and it started to make my eyes and head hurt. Even thinking about it makes my head hurt.

Slowly, we got used to it, and it became better the past few months, but I still think that online school is still the worst!

How to Honor Veterans

Today, I will be writing about Veterans Day and how to honor our heroes. If you don’t know what Veteran's Day is, it is our day to thank and honor the heroes that fought for us in the military. The military means the armed forces of our country (the Navy, Marines, Air Force, Army, and Coast Guard).

Here are 3 ways that you can thank and honor our veterans:

You could write them a letter or a card.

You could even say thank you for your service. A simple thank you can go a very long way.

You could even salute them. While saluting is something that the military is supposed to do, a member of the military would understand that you were being respectful, and it would make them feel appreciated.

These are some of the things you can do to show your appreciation, and that is what Veteran's day is about.

Roblox Review

Roblox is a videogame platform that allows players to play many fun games. Roblox was first founded in 2004, by David Baszucki and Erik Cassel.

I personally rate Roblox a 8/10. Roblox is very fun and entertaining.

However, there are some pros and cons to Roblox that could make or break your game. The pro of Roblox is that it can be fun. Roblox entertains me a lot and is really fun. Roblox features various hobbies which is very fun to me!

The con of Roblox is that if you don’t know how to play you might not be able to have fun.

However, once you learn how to play, I really think roblox is very entertaining. My favorite part about Roblox is that you can meet also new friends while you play fun games!

APPLE PIE RECIPE

Ingredients Checklist

1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie

½ cup unsalted butter

3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

¼ cup water

½ cup white sugar
½ cup packed brown sugar
8 Granny Smith apples - peeled, cored and sliced

Directions

Step 1
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Melt the butter in a saucepan. Stir in flour to form a paste. Add water, white sugar and brown sugar, and bring to a boil. Reduce temperature and let simmer.
Step 2
Place the bottom crust in your pan. Fill with apples, mounded slightly. Cover with a lattice work crust. Gently pour the sugar and butter liquid over the crust. Pour slowly so that it does not run off.
Step 3
Bake 15 minutes in the preheated oven. Reduce the temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Continue baking for 35 to 45 minutes, until apples are soft.
