The Elemential Part Eight

The three of them were sitting on the couch in the living room. Griffin and Asta were explaining to Evalyn why they were there.

“So it all started over a thousand years ago,” started Griffin. “Three magical beings were created. There was the god of death, Anpu(An-pa), the goddess of life, Evelia, and, the most important, the goddess of nature, Primrose. She was a mixture of both Anpu and Evelia. The three were all amazing friends. They did everything together, but there was only one problem. With the creation of these three crazy, magical beings, there were also two other beings made to be able to kill them-the Black Immortals: Dabria and Azrail. They are two of the only three people who can wipe out the gods. Here’s the catch, the gods can’t kill their own kind nor the Black immortals. The only person who can wipe them all out is only in legend. She is the person that the Black Immortals want more than they do the gods.”

“Wow.” Evalyn was still trying to piece together everything she just heard to see how it involved her.

“Asta and I are not actually brother and sister.” Evalyn stared wide-eyed at Griffin in surprise. “Asta is actually the descendant of the Evelia, the goddess of life, and I’m the descendant of Anpu, the god of death.” Griffin paused as if he was trying to word what he was about to say next. “We think...no we’re sure that you are the descendant of Primrose.”

“That’s crazy!” Evalyn said standing up. “Neither my mom nor my dad had these powers, and I don’t think that my long lost grandparents did either!”

“That’s why we think,” began Asta. “that you might have been adopted.”

“What are you talking about? That’s insane!” proclaimed Evalyn. “My mom took care of me my entire life. She even brought me home from the hospital. How can I be adopted?”

“You could have been left there by your birth mother,” Griffin put in. “Both Asta’s and my parents were wiped out by the Black Immortals a little over four years ago. We both managed to escape and I found her soon afterwards. Your mother probably knew that an attack was going to happen, so she probably left you in the hospital after she gave birth knowing you would be adopted into a good family and safe from the Black Immortals.”

“I’m so sorry,” Evalyn said solemnly. “The only reason I ever hid my powers was because if the world ever found out, scientists would most likely put me in a lab for the rest of my life, and I would become a labrat. I never knew there were other dangers like the Black Immortals out there.”

“There’s something else,” said Asta.“We also might have another reason why your mom left-”

“No Asta!” yelled Griffin cutting off the end of her sentence. “We have no proof!”

“We have enough,” hissed Asta. “Evalyn, do you remember when we told you about the girl who was the only one who could wipe out the gods and Black Immortals?”

“Yes. I think so,” replied Evalyn. She was unsure about what was to be said next.

“Well,” said Griffin. “we think that girl is you.”

The Coldest Bus Ride

One of the best things in life is sitting at the table and having a nice, hot, steaming cup of hot chocolate. Well, too bad for me, because of course I had to go to school today. Honestly, I think it should be mandatory to have a 2 hour delay in winter. Right now, I was sitting on the bus contemplating whether or not I should’ve faked a fever today, but since it was Friday I figured I could suck it up for the day.

All of a sudden the bus shook. It didn’t bother me much since there were a lot of potholes on this road, then I thought “Great, I'm going to die because the roads are icy, I should’ve stayed home.” When the bus shook again I was worried because this time it felt like the bus was being lifted up. When I looked outside, the bus WAS being lifted into the air by the hands of a monster!

I looked out the windshield and looked at the creature in the face, and it was a 10 foot monster. I’d heard about these monsters, but I didn’t know how to defeat them, and I was unsure of their weakness, but I was surprised they were attacking us. “Get out of the way!” I bellowed at the bus driver, and he moved immediately. I took my hydroflask out of my backpack. I threw it hard enough to break the window, hitting the monster in the head, knocking him out, and making him drop the bus.

Once everyone was safely out of the bus, I looked at my phone. It said that there was a human outbreak, and then I finally understood why we were attacked!

“Wow,” I thought, wiping my runny carrot nose, “I saved a bus of snow people…” I’m glad I came to school today. If I didn’t maybe everyone on that bus could’ve died...

“Why do you need me?” I asked.

“We’ll explain later”, one of them said, “Come on!”

Reluctantly I followed. We got to a man hole in the street. The leader knocked his knuckles three times on it, someone underneath opened it. “Pretty high tech, huh?”, one of them jested. All four of us climbed down the ladder, I was expecting it to lead to a sewer but instead it looked like a party was going on. I took a moment to look at my surroundings, there was a disco floor in the middle of the dome like bunker, beside the dance floor was an old fashioned jukebox, and people were hanging around and talking.

“May I ask what's happening?” I questioned.

“Yes come here,” the leader said, gesturing with hands towards a small table. “Let me introduce myself and my accomplices. This here is Zack," he said pointing to the shortest of the three. “You see the tallest of us, she’s Brittany,” she gave me a shy wave. “ And I the leader of this troublesome trio, Jonathan.”

“So, what's your name, robot one?” Zack said.

I responded, “My name is Kevin, and are you going to explain what happened?”.

“Yes I can help you with that,” said Brittany gesturing at the table, “Observe”. I looked at the lego table, it was split in half with a robot mini figure on one side, and two boy mini figures and one girl on the other, off to the side was what looked to be a model of my dad's time machine.

”Basically, you’ve been living in alternate universe where your dad didn’t rule yet. So when he came at you this morning it sent, like an update that put you in our universe.”

My mind was spinning all I could say was,”I’m confused…”

Brittany walked over to me, “Stay still, this may hurt.” she said. She grabbed by my eye and tugged with all her might, I expected it to hurt but instead a huge chunk of what I thought was my skin came off. It revealed a glowing red eye, and a hunk of wires a tubes.

Brittany smiled, “Its made out of the same stuff out of your dads time machine,” she said.

“Which means?” I inquired.

She responded,” It means your dad can’t go back in time and erase you.”.

Suddenly, I realized what she meant. My shared material with Dad's time machine connected me with a universe where my dad had taken over. This meant I could still stop him.

“I’m in.” I said confidently. They all nodded, we knew that we were going to stop my dad, but we didn’t know how.

The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

You will need these things to make the cookies:

• 1 cup butter, softened

• 1 cup packed brown sugar

• 2 eggs

• 2 teaspoon vanilla extract

• 1 teaspoon baking soda

• 2 teaspoon hot water

• ½ teaspoon salt

• 3 cups all-purpose flour

• 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

• 1 cup chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F .

Cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Dissolve baking soda in hot water. Add to batter along with salt. Stir in flour, chocolate chips,and nuts. Drop by large spoonfuls onto ungreased pans.

Bake for about 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until edges are nicely browned.

The HAunted Treehouse Part Five: Love House

“Are we in the clouds?” Aaron said.

“I don’t think we are or we would be falling,” said Avery.

Jeffrey hit the ground. “It's limestone,” Jeffrey said with wonder.

Then, they saw a baby or a man in a diaper. He also had a bow and arrow. “Is he Cupid?” Payton said He came at Payton and hit her with an arrow, but it was not a love arrow, it was a real arrow. Payton dropped dead.

They knew this was Hades’ doing. They could not just rest in peace. They went down a pink staircase. Jeffrey fell into the hole of deadly kissers ,and the impact was so bad that he died.

As the others carefully went around the hole, they said their goodbyes, but had to move on. They saw a red diamond heart. It was the biggest diamond they ever saw. Avery went to touch it zapped her and she died.

It was just Aaron and Hayden. In the group, there were 3 boys and 2 girls. Two of the boys were best friends, which left the other boy a little left out. So when Hayden and Aaron were together without Jeffrey or the girls it got old quickly.

They saw a white tunnel and went down it. They thought it was going to be gods, but it was a group of zombie lovers. They started toward both of them and they both died when the zombies took their hearts and ate them. They were all back to the underworld. (Again.)

PINEAPPLE UPSIDE DOWN CAKE RECIPE

To prepare this cake, you need:

• Sliced pineapple rings

• Maraschino cherries

• Granulated brown sugar

• Unsalted butter

• Yellow cake mix

1. First preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

2. Next you add ¼ cup of melted butter to the bottom of your pan

3. Evenly put ½ of a cup of your brown sugar over the butter in your pan

4. Use your pineapple rings and place them in rows.

5. Use your you maraschino cherries and place them in extra corners or uncovered spaces as well as on each pineapple ring.

6. Next, follow all instructions of the back of your yellow cake mix box. When your cake mix is done according to the box, add ¼ cup of pineapple juice from your sliced pineapple can to your mix.

7. Evenly pour your cake mix over the pineapples and cherries.

8. Then, put your cake in the oven for 35 minutes. If needed, add an extra 5 minutes however many times you need to until the cake is done.

9. When you take you cake out, let it cool and then flip it on to your choice of plate.

10. Last, enjoy!!
