The procedures surrounding your departure will be explained in detail in the spring. You should, however, be aware of several rules in advance:
WEPO is a residential program requiring students to live and work in Oxford for the entire academic year. No student may depart Ephraim Williams House until all tutorial meetings have been completed and all academic work has been submitted. Under no circumstances are students allowed to negotiate an early end to tutorial meetings. Tutors may assign an end-of-term assessment (e.g. exam, extended essay, project); such assessments must be completed during 9th week whilst you're in Oxford. Failure to meet the residence requirement, without the express consent of the Faculty Director, will result in a deficiency for the term (and attendant consequences) and may include additional disciplinary action by the Dean of the College.
No student may remain or stay in Ephraim Williams House after the designated final departure date.
No luggage or non-WEPO property may be left anywhere in the complex after the designated departure date.
The Programme is unable to ship or mail any possessions to you on your behalf. If you need to ship any possessions home at the end of the year, you must make arrangements with a shipper or mail service sufficiently BEFORE your departure. Many students use services like SendmyBag.com, which offers a student discount.
You will need to book a check-out appointment with the Director of Administration to return your gown, Exeter locker key, bike key/helmet/lights, travel adaptor, and any other items belonging to WEPO that you may have borrowed. Your room will be inspected within 2 business days following your departure. Any lost items, bedding, towels, or damage to your room will be charged to your term bill.
If you accidentally take items home with you that belong to WEPO, you will be charged to replace those items (keys, bedding, towels, bike accessories etc.). You may securely post it back to us, as long as you provide us with proof of postage, and actively track the package to ensure safe return. If the items do not reach us, we must assume loss of item, and you will lose your deposits or be charged for those items on your term bill.
