Policy Compliance Reminder
Officers are reminded that all department policies, including the Pursuit Policy, must be followed at all times. These policies are in place to protect both officer safety and public safety, and adherence is not optional.
All personnel are expected to review applicable policies regularly and ensure their field decisions align with department standards. When possible, officers should slow situations down to allow for clear and rational decision-making. If there is any uncertainty regarding policy, officers should consult a supervisor or senior officer before taking action.
Performance and Integrity
Professionalism and integrity remain core expectations of this department. While some policies may not always be the most enjoyable, they exist to maintain structure, safety, and the highest quality roleplay standards.
Maintaining policy compliance and clear communication ensures continued excellence across the department.
Municipality Coverage
Officers are reminded about Chapter 4 in our Regulations Manual, which states that Police Officers have the discretion to choose any municipality when starting their patrol. However, Police Officers must prioritize servicing municipalities with fewer units. If not, officers are advised to check in with a Sergeant or higher before going on duty in order to receive an assignment. Failure to do so may result in reassignment if this was not properly done.
Patrol Supervisors have the right to request officers to change their municipality at any time.
Report Writing
A reminder to all officers that each report should clearly answer the 5 W’s and How: Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How. For example, during an arrest, the narrative should focus on the key building blocks that establish Probable Cause for the arrest.
If these elements are addressed within a narrative of at least 100 words, the essential information has likely been covered.
Additionally, during traffic stops, all vehicle information must be fully documented. This includes the license plate and vehicle color. If a vehicle does not have a license plate, that fact must be clearly stated in the citation narrative. Accurate and complete vehicle information is required in every case.
Winter Structure Reminder
A reminder that our Winter Uniform Restrictions are still in effect for March; officers can stay tuned until April!
Department Feedback
All community members and department members are reminded that we value constructive feedback, and it is highly encouraged. We look forward to hearing and reading your feedback on us so we can make appropriate changes.
