Welcome to 2024:
Municipal Police wishes everyone a Happy New Year! Wishing you a year ahead filled with joy, growth, and endless possibilities.
This month, we will not be hosting a department meeting, and any announcements or news will be shared via the department newsletter, including January 2024 promotions!
New External Members Equivalency Policy
To streamline information, prevent confusion, and update all of the equivalent ranks to new department rankings throughout the community, the Municipal Police will be combining two policies: #001 H.O.D. & Administration Equivalencies & #004 External Member Equivalencies into a new policy: #001 External Member Equivalencies which will go into effect immediately.
Members who patrol as Municipal Police through an equivalency, such as R&T CoC members, Media members, Development members, etc., should review this external member policy and ensure they are within compliance with the new policies and any new rank equivalencies that they may hold.
All department administrators can receive an equivalency to patrol as Municipal Police and must reach out to a member of the Municipal Police Command to be added to the roster & given their equivalence.
To review the full policy, please view Policy #001 in our Municipal Police Policy Book.
Corporal Entrance Program:
As we previously announced at our last department meeting, we have recently opened our Corporal Entrance Program. We have selected four individuals who are currently going through the Corporal Entrance Program who had applied with our first round of entry applicants. We will announce when the program will take on the next round of applicants.
Winter Uniform Structure:
As a reminder, the Class C uniforms, Polos, and Short Sleeve Uniforms are restricted during the winter weather months.
Officers may wear the cargo pants when wearing the Class D (high-vis jacket), as outlined in the uniform structure.
Officers may wear the turtle neck variant of the Class B uniform, as outlined in the uniform structure.
Officer Reports & Paperwork:
We would like to remind officers of the one basic responsibility of roleplaying as an officer, and that responsibility is paperwork. Whether it be writing a proper citation or a scene report from a 911 call, these reports are important as they could be involved with Judicial Services roleplay, or you may be asked to provide said reports for department review.
Please make sure that you are not call-hopping (leaving or jumping between calls without securing them or filing any paperwork) — If you are involved within a scene, such as an officer-involved shooting, and discharge your firearm, it is your responsibility to write and file those reports within the CAD.
7.4 - Self Attaching Policy
7.10 - Integrated Subject Transport and Custody Protocol
These regulations go over filing paperwork concerning specific scenes and policies we have on these department operations.
