Pursuit Policy Changes
Officers operating unmarked cruisers are no longer permitted to attach to or actively engage in motor vehicle pursuits 🛑.
Unmarked units may initiate a pursuit if it meets pursuit guidelines, but must immediately disengage and hand the pursuit over to a marked unit, another agency, or the State Police.
The only exception to this directive is for full-time Municipal Police Supervisors. This is a temporary directive until further notice. ⚠️
Municipal Police no longer authorizes interjurisdictional pursuits for non-violent crimes
If a pursuit passes through a neighboring town into another municipality, the initiating agency must terminate their involvement and return to their jurisdiction.
The primary officer/supervisor may remain involved in a secondary capacity to assist the primary pursuing agency with coordination, charges, and booking
Municipality Coverage
Officers are reminded about Chapter 4 in our Regulations Manual, which states that Police Officers have the discretion to choose any municipality when starting their patrol. However, Police Officers must prioritize servicing municipalities with fewer units.
Patrol Supervisors have the right to request officers to change their municipality at any time.
Jail Times
A jail time restriction has been implemented, which physically restricts a character's ability to be used, which means that it is essential that officers jail for the correct and actual amount of time when booking. The penal code provides the appropriate number of seconds on each charge. In addition, it is required that all officers complete and file their arrest reports when making an arrest. The charges and time on the report must be reflected in the number of seconds jailed.
Uniform Structure Reminders
During the month of January,
Only items listed within the Uniform Structure are authorized for use. All uniforms and configurations are available through /eup, with all customization options located directly within the EUP menu, minus character customization (hair, eye color, etc.).
All officers are required to abide by our Uniform Structure.
A reminder that our Winter Uniform Restrictions are still in effect.
Officers are specifically reminded about our Vest & Vest Attachment Policies, in addition to the proper duty belt attachments.
Use of Force & Arrest Procedures
When making an arrest, officers must not engage in cuff rushing or immediately restrain a subject without allowing them the opportunity to resist, flee, or otherwise roleplay the encounter. This behavior violates ForceRP standards as outlined in the community Rules & Regulations.
Vehicle Usage & Boxing-In Procedures
Boxing-in maneuvers should not be treated as a demolition derby. Officers are expected to use their patrol vehicles appropriately and professionally, and only perform boxing-in techniques when necessary and justified.
Unnecessary vehicle contact or reckless driving during these maneuvers is not acceptable.
Subject Transport & Custody Protocol
We'd like to remind all officers that when a subject from a scene or traffic stop requires medical attention and/or is transported:
You must accompany EMS or follow them to the hospital.
Primary and/or secondary units are responsible for remaining present during transport and taking custody immediately upon discharge.
Complete all necessary paperwork or proceed with booking as required without delay.

All community members and department members are reminded that we value constructive feedback, and it is highly encouraged. We look forward to hearing and reading your feedback on us so we can make appropriate changes.
