Call Hopping
Once again, officers are reminded that all calls must be properly tended to and cleared out appropriately, including any reports being written, suspects being tended to, medical being provided, etc. Officers should not be clearing calls to go to another call that comes out unless cleared by the OIC.
Traffic Crashes & Reports
Officers are reminded that if there is a traffic collision involving two civilians, officers should call and request available traffic enforcement units to respond. However, if they are not available, the responding officer(s) can and should do the traffic investigation. If the crash involves a municipal unit, officers can request the State Police to respond to investigate the crash.
Professional Conduct
Officers are representatives of the department as a whole, which means that violations of community rules and regulations while active as Municipal Police reflect on the department.
While on scenes in the server, officers are reminded to act professionally and represent themselves and the department in a positive light. Officers should be following policy and regulations, even if it may seem like nobody is around.
Officers can and should review the community Rules & Regulations frequently.
Radio Conduct & Etiquette
Officers are reminded that when in the RTO channels, they are required to follow all policies and regulations of such channels and to utilize them properly.
Officers are encouraged to review the official community RTO Guidelines.
Violations of these guidelines may result in disciplinary action. Any ignorance of the policies is not an excuse for violation.
Officers are reminded of our authorized 10-codes; please ensure that you do not utilize prohibited 10-codes over the radio.
