Springtime is here! 💐
It's time to welcome back the warmth of Spring! We are excited to announce that it's officially short-sleeve and polo season for our Police Officers.
Please remember to adhere to the uniform guidelines and contact a Sergeant for any questions.
Policy Book Additions & Changes:
Municipal Police is proud to announce the implementation of our new following policies, including our Transport Van, Completion of Reports and Forms, and Officer of the Month policies.
Officers are required to review and adhere to these policies to ensure a smooth and consistent implementation.
Municipal Police have also incorporated changes to our Transfer & Reserves policy, including changes based on recruitment status for reserve officers, transfers in and out of the department, and procedures on retaining reserve ranks.
Municipal Police First Aid Guide:
This new comprehensive Medical Reference Guide has been meticulously crafted by the Municipal Police, in collaboration with Municipal Fire & EMS members, to provide invaluable assistance to medical professionals and first responders in dynamic and challenging situations. Designed to equip officers with fundamental knowledge and swift access to essential medical protocols in the field.
Officers can view the guide here.
Judicial Services:
As previously announced throughout March, Judicial Services has introduced a streamlined process for requesting warrants, making it more efficient and convenient for all law enforcement personnel. The new Warrant Request Form, accessible to police officers, allows you to request arrest and search warrants swiftly and easily, eliminating the need for tedious paperwork and lengthy processing times. To find further information & updates, all officers are required to join the Judicial Services Discord and complete the verification process. 🗃️
Officers can find the new Judicial Servies Warrant Request form here! 🔗
⚠️Narratives must be at least 100 words or more, similar to arrest reports and criminal summons. Invalid requests will be denied swiftly and Officers will have to submit the form once again with valid details.
Uniform Structure:
We were pleased to announce the release of our brand-new uniform structure during the past month, incorporating new designs to provide a clean and minimalistic interface for fresh visual experiences and ease of access.
Officers are reminded of key aspects of our uniform structure that are commonly being misused:
Hair & Beards
Vest & Duty Belt Combinations
Officers are requested to ensure their compliance and understanding of the uniform structure to ensure they comply with our structures.
Patrol Operations:
Units should advise when responding to 911 calls or calls for requests.
Units should refrain from self-attaching to calls outside their district without supervisor approval or dispatch request. (Exception panic button, all-call, officer needs help call, mutual aid request)
Units should be getting approval from a supervisor before clearing a scene and should also not be clearing the scene as soon as the suspect is taken into custody.
Units should not have to be told by a supervisor to cease fire much less multiple times.
Officers who exhibit violations of our Use of Force policies and procedures are subject to disciplinary action; almost all instances of excessive force and illegal misconduct can be issued a 10-90.
Officers must reference the district assignment tab under the Vehicle Management Systems (VMS) when on patrol. Police Officers have the discretion to choose any municipality when starting their patrol. However, Police Officers must prioritize servicing municipalities with fewer units. If a supervisor is available, you can request a municipality assignment.
Patrol Supervisors have the right to request officers to change their municipality at any time. Police Officers may face disciplinary action if they fail to comply with a supervisor’s requests.
Roxwood Implementation:
Throughout the past month, Roxwood has been added and officers are instructed to utilize the Paleto Bay PD Station as the primary station for conducting official business within Paleto Bay. Officers must start/end their patrols and book suspects at the main Paleto Bay PD Station, not at the Marina Beach PD substation.
While the Marina Beach PD substation remains operational, it will now serve as a secondary location for specific functions, serve as a sub-station of the Paleto Bay Police Department, and can be used to conduct small business like:
Limited administrative operations, such as filing reports or documenting evidence.
Hosting meetings or briefings.
Provide access to a limited amount of equipment and resources.
Proper Vehicle Lighting Usage
Officers are reminded about proper light usage on our emergency vehicles, including proper code responses to calls for service.
Officers are also reminded about the following information on certain vehicles in our fleets:
Davis 2020 — You can have both alley lights enabled at the same time and it'll provide a lot of light coverage, especially on scenes during the night! Or, if you only want to light up the right side or left side you can do that!
Ctrl + Right Arrow Key is your RIGHT ALLEY LIGHT
Ctrl + Left Arrow Key is your LEFT ALLEY LIGHT
Paleto Bay 2020 & Vinewood 2020 — These vehicles do not have cruise lights and officers should refrain from driving around with the night-time park mode lights enabled.
