My name is Violet Labos and I was born in Portland, ME. I share a home with an older sister and a dog that voices so many opinions and makes so much noise that he could basically be a younger brother. We all speak English (the dog does too he just hasn't yet). As of right now, I don't really have any career goals. I'm just hoping to get a job that pays well and doesn't bore me to tears. In five years I hope to still be in college pursuing a major that has yet to be decided. Hopefully, it will be something interesting. I know two people who went to college for art and they are my older sister and my old manager. I suppose what I am most proud of is my sense of humor. Not everyone can find dad jokes funny. In my free time, I like to read and dabble in a bit of writing as well. I enrolled in this course because I found Photography 1 to be quite fun and wanted to see what the second half would have to offer. A photographer that has caught my eye is Gamander López. The way he is able to capture animals living their lives with such high quality and balanced light makes his photos really satisfying to look at. My ideal job would be something that is not sitting at a desk all day. I might not know the specifics of what I want to do, but I would want it to be something that's hands-on and gets my mind turning in exciting ways. Three adjectives that might be used to describe me are patient, funny, and competitive.
I like this photo because of how alive it feels. The colors are not too harsh, but not dull either, making it quite pleasing to look at.
I am drawn to this photo because of how unreal it looks. The way the clouds have formed and filter through the light against a dark blue sky is so beautiful to me.
I like this image because of the way it directs my eyes into taking in the whole scene. I like how the lack of background allows me to see each of the components of the image without being distracted.
I like this photograph because of mainly the way the colors are captured. The blue of the sky is not drowned out by the rays of light while at the same time providing a background for those light rays to have varying colors of their own.
I like this photo mostly because of the lighting. It's right on the line of being too bright, yet the clouds can still clearly be made out along with the soft color gradient.
