Building & Fortifications

  • Constructed buildings must have a material appropriate to their faction and must not be made out of natural landscape props (such as trees & rocks).
    Rebels have a rusted metal and scrap.
    Combine use a blue metallic color.

  • Buildings must follow the laws of physics. Examples of prohibited structures:
    Floating structures with no means of reasonable suspension;
    Bridges without supports;
    Invisible/one-way walls;
    Ramps without a reasonable slope.

  • Buildings that majorly disrupt player movement are not allowed.
    There must be at least one doorway entrance to a building for it not to be considered a prop block;
    Ground vehicles must have at least one unblocked road/path to access the immediate surroundings at any given point.

  • Buildings used for training or tryouts within a faction's base are exempt from this section, if they don't disrupt the server, players or gameplay.

  • Constructions deemed to cause noticeable lag are able to be removed by a staff member (Senior Administrator+) at their own discretion.
    This could also be at a GRID COs discretion.
    GRIDs knowingly causing lag with any construction is punishable.

  • All props created must be removed before switching to a different class.

  • Undoing/quick-deleting fortifications when enemies take over the area is grounds for punishment at a GRID CO's discretion.

  • Crouch/jump structures, obstacle course structures, "Puzzle Room" structures, and other such structures are prohibited and are defined as follows:
    Crouch/jump structures are when at some point within the base, you MUST crouch or jump to make progress;
    Obstacle course structures, such as stepping stones, parkour segments, mazes, etc., are a part of a structure;
    "Puzzle Room" structures are when there is a hidden button, a button-based password, or an intentionally secretive entrance to a base for the purpose of fooling other units.

  • GRID may not reinforce vehicles with props to prevent damage, or edit them in any way.

  • Combat building (building whilst taking fire) is prohibited, as is using props as mobile shields.
    If a GRID is killed while constructing, they must delete the props that do not form a defined structure, or that would break other building rules.
    GRID must stop building when receiving fire.

Failure to adhere to these rules will lead to the deleting of said props (by staff), with or without warning. Repeat offenders/major offenders will be permanently stripped of their ULX perms and a blacklist from GRID. The decision is ultimately at the GRID CmD's discretion.
