Debriefing

Introduction to Debriefs

Debriefs are meetings organized by COs every single time the map swaps due to a victory/loss in the campaign system, which is why each time the map swaps there is a 20 minute period before either team is allowed to exit their bases and begin fighting. Though DBs can also be hosted outside of these scenarios at the whim of officers (this is less likely however, as it can jeopardize the ticket situation and victory on the map).

It's the perfect opportunity to group everyone up and to plan the upcoming deployments. Whoever is hosting the Debriefing will use either Team Chat, Officer Chat or the Orders Command (which will show up in red text on the screen). Players will usually see something like this in chat:

“RTB FOR DB”

As soon as a player sees this announcement from a CO, they must return to base and head to the Debrief area. Each map has its own debrief area, so players must get accustomed to them. RTB is short for "Return to Base", and DB means debrief.

Debrief Rules

Once players arrive to the Debrief area, they must line up with their division or, if they’re a CO, they must go up on the stage. During debriefs, players must keep their weapons holstered, or put away, and keep quiet. If anyone has anything to say during a Debrief, they must type “PTS” in chat and wait for a CO to give them permission to speak. PTS is short for "Permission-to-speak". When a CO announces that “PTS is active”, you must follow this procedure as well. Further rules are placed in here.

Debrief Procedures

Debriefs go through the following topics: Battle Reports, Demotions, Promotions and Battle Plans

Battle reports give everyone information about what’s going on the field, so any player is more than welcome to give their view of what has been going.

Demotions are a harsh topic of discussion, so COs recommend players to PM them when they have a demotion in mind.

During promotions, players may only recommend others for promotion and never themselves (or they will be punished). If a player gets accepted for promotion, they move to the promotion line and wait until the Debrief is over.

Players may not recommend the person who recommended them for promotion during the same Debrief session.

Once the CO logs the promotion, the player must change their name to add the new Rank that they got unless instructed otherwise.

Finally, Debriefs end with Battle Plans and the formation of squadrons. This is ESSENTIAL for making sure we are ready for battle, and are organized before getting to the field. The host of the Debrief will help organize everybody into groups, like flanking squads, defensive squads, offensive squads, ETC. Coordination is key. The host CO must organize the DB into squads in before the DB is dismissed. Squad rules can be found here.
