Background Lore

Overwatch Shotgunners have always been an asset of the Universal Union, with the increasing warlike nature of the resistance in Sector 61, the expeditionary force needed more than just a small detachment, and so their expansion has been provided as part of the 3-way (Close, Mid, Long range specialized subdivisions) restructuring of the OTA following the dissolution of ECHO.
