Circe put away her napkin again. "No time to lie down. Thing is, Versine can dress up like '1 - cos(x)' using fake accessories all she likes, but she never changed how her hair looks. It arcs the wrong way to be cosine!"
"Look, this is all moot," Lyn said at last. "Secant said they already found the explosive and neutralized it."
"Secant?" Circe said pointedly, crossing her arms. "Wouldn't she be in the meeting, talking with all the others?"
"No, she was apparently standing guard outside."
"Did she have a twitch in one eye?"
Lyn blinked. "I'm sorry?"
The circle glared. "I'm willing to bet you were talking to Exsecant. Moreover, that all the Archaic trig are in on it, trying to reclaim the throne."
The blonde threw her arms out to her side. "Well, Secant and Exsecant are the same excepting a vertical shift! So having never met either, how could I possibly tell the difference??"
"The eye twitch," Circe repeated patiently. "True reciprocal ratios will have one. Because being from the west, they're also winkies."
