"Sorry, can't help puns like that," the bartender apologized. "They come naturally in a math dimension." He held his drink dispenser over the glass on the counter. "So, orange juice?"

Lyn paused with her hand on the door. "I'd prefer a milk." "I can do that," the bartender said agreeably. He turned and went for a small bar fridge, so Lyn approached once more.

"So, what do I call you?" she wondered.

"Name's Maud," he replied.

Lyn blinked, peering at him over her glasses as she settled on a stool. "But you're a guy..." She paused, again regarding the hat and sunglasses. "Aren't you?"

He turned back with a carton of milk and a large grin. "So was Charles Maude." Lyn just kept staring. Maud's grin faded. "From 'Bye Bye Birdie'. Not into musicals?"

Lyn shook her head. "No, I'm more into line dancing."
