A few months had passed since Tangent seceding from Trigonometry. As none of the trigonometric functions currently frequented Maud's bar, the bartender finally decided to ask Circe about the situation one afternoon. After all, there seemed to be a link between Circles and Trigonometry.

"So how is it that there hasn't been any major fallout from Tangent's departure?" Maud inquired, adjusting his shades. "I mean, if Tan's no longer coordinating any of her incarnations, or taking any calls..."

Circe gestured vaguely. "Oh, Sin and Cos can handle her duties. After all, Tangent's only Sine over Cosine. The twins can perch on each others' shoulders to get the gist of what she does."

Maud stared for a moment. "That's... odd to visualize," he admitted. "Particularly given how tall they are." He shook his head. "But then, I suppose it's equally hard to believe that Tan could hang out so much with Lyn, yet manage to keep her identity secret."

The blue haired woman raised an eyebrow. "Uh, Sin over Cos is the Quotient Identity, it's hardly a secret..."
