"You should take a guide with you, Lyn," Maud decided. "Someone assertive. Someone who knows when they're getting the runaround. Someone Trig might listen to in a crisis."

Circe swallowed her next bite of pie slowly, as she realized the other two had turned to look at her. "Oh no," she protested. "Describing the AZ is one thing, running around in it is quite another!"

"Of course. You know," Maud continued, turning back to Lyn. "I've been thinking of taking a vacation. But rather than closing down, I thought I might let someone else tend bar for a week." He rubbed his chin. "Someone assertive. Someone who knows when they're getting the runaround. Someone people might listen to in a crisis."

Lyn found she couldn't keep a straight face. She raised a hand to her mouth to cover her amusement over the expressions Circe was now making.

"You... that... this is blackmail!" the blue haired circle sputtered at last.

"I was speaking generally of anyone who might accompany Lyn," Maud pointed out.

Circe glared. She pointedly stabbed at, then ate, her last piece of pie. "I'll go," she declared after a moment of sizing Maud up. "But don't expect any degree of enthusiasm."
