I have been thinking for a while now; why did I decide to use the sky as the main point of my picture or more how the sky harmonizes with the the clouds, the sun and the light that is there...
Clouds are always changing, so an image we may have seen a second ago might be gone and never really possible to recreate, so by capturing these moments I capture a unique part of the sky; in a way stopping time for just a moment.
The sky is pretty much the same everywhere you go. It might be more troublesome for someone to see in urban places because of the all the lights at night, but there is still the possibility to see the clouds and the sun or moon. The sky is something everyone can easily connect to, because everyone has the possibility of seeing the sky every day.
There is the chance to imagine yourself at a completely different place with a different story if you wanted to. Whatever you want to think, feel, do at that moment is up to you. Whatever you see, imagine and do with the given information in form of a picture is all in the way you view it.
What is the beauty of the sky?
Honestly I cannot really answer that, because a lot of things on the planet are very beautiful, but everyone describes beauty in a different way. For me it is not just one thing but how everything seems like puzzle pieces that fit perfectly together; on some days better than on other's but it is all pretty much the same.
"... beauty is in the eye of the beholder..." - Margaret Wolfe Hungerford
Beauty is subjective, as all the people in the world or part of the people in the world decide what is pretty and what is not. It is not just one person who decides but the collective opinion of people. The larger amount that has the same opinion will have the chance to decide what is beautiful and what is not.
A flower is pretty, but so is an old European building, a lake or even a person. A lot of things in the world can be called beautiful.
I do not think that I really want to project myself too much in these pictures. I would rather like for people to find some sort of connection or comfort in it. For me the sky projects calmness and makes me able to think and be creative.
