Installation Sketch- #01

2017.10.26. Thursday -1st Pre-Exhibition day

I've been collecting letters from participants. Participants are four groups of sisters total but received five letters so far. With them, I transcribed and recorded my voice while doing it. For the pre-exhibition, I wanted to make a 'sketch installation.' I thought of displaying table at the exhibition and make it look like a table I used for transcribing letters. For me transcribing was sort of an ascetic activity, and by displaying table, I thought this could make an atmosphere of my loneliness and pain while I'm doing this work. As it was a 'sketch' installation, I put small table and on it I put a glass of tea, candle, just like I do it every day.

The beige fabric was a try-out. Transcribing work is an ascetic activity just as I mentioned but it's somehow it's a ritualistic activity also; it's like an 'altar' to me. Wondered does the fabric can helps to make the atmosphere.
