Before starting to work on portrait photography in earnest, I felt the need to study classic works again and wondered what direction of photography I was looking for.
I chose two photographers to study.
The main characters are Yousuf Karsh, who is called the master of portraits recorded in light in the 20th century, and William Eggleston, who is called the father of color pictures.
In this pdf that I prepared, you can see pictures of the two photographers.
In particular, I was impressed with Yusuf Karsh's ability to bring out the subject's 'real' and challenged the black-and-white artist's portrait.
It was an interesting experiment for me, who is familiar with color photography.
I took a picture of a male dancer.
I cared about the lighting so that the curvature of the dancer's body could be beautifully represented.
The results were satisfactory, and I realized the depth of the black-and-white picture.
If I have a chance, I would like to work on a series.
