WO!MAN! EXHIBITION
In the 64 Gallery and A studio
I participated in the WO!MAN! exhibition as a one feminist artist.
In fact, I was planning work of feminism (refer to '10 Week' page), but I didn't completed yet so I judged that I will be difficult to participate.
However, WO!MAN! exhibition was a good chance to voice as feminist artist, so I ended up taking part in something else, not the one I was working on.
I knew it was a good show, but I didn't expect much because I was a late member.
On opening day, quite a few people attended the opening ceremony, and the result was wonderful.
If there had been more time to prepare, it must have been a perfect exhibition.
We were sponsored some delicious cockle by the Sex Minority Club and the professors and students danced to nice music. It was an interesting experience.
'Feminism' emerged in society, but the age of women being recognized as a one 'human being' is a long way to come. Discrimination is still occurring, and there are vested interests who try to ignore it as much as we try to voice it.
Our women exhibition proved that female artists are not lagging behind male artists.
I hope that there will be many opportunities for female artists to be in the spotlight in the future.
And thanks to prof. Gustav and Silas!
