In what is beginning to become an annual event, another gathering was organized in May 2022 at what is becoming the 'usual venue' by the inimitable Bill Dowling.
There were more than a couple of dozen attendees, plus about the same number of apologies. That total number indicates that there are still many old mates who are keen to catch up every now and then.
This latest gathering included a few Old Patrician Footy team players from earlier-to-mid 60s (originals!), so the composition of the ‘clan’ is expanding! It was good to see the likes of Bernie Power, Brendan Lane, Murray Cullinan and Chris Power joining some others from that team who have made their way to the Glenferrie for previous ‘meetings’.
The total complement on the day included the following personnel: Peter Rogan, George Zagon, Frank Paez, Martin Tobin, Con McMahon, Paul McColl, Rob Kelly, Kevin Tweedley, Pat Pinnell, James McGuane, Rick Favaloro, Shane Favaloro, John Higgins, ‘Ollie’ O’Loughlin, Pat Smith, Kevin Chamberlain, Bernie Power, Chris Power, Terry Martin, Frank Brophy, Pat Talty, Gerard Hale, Dave Hale, Kevin Lane, Murray Cullinan, Brendan Lane, Greg Taylor, Michael Clanchy and Bill Dowling.
In addition, there were quite a few who wished they could come but were otherwise engaged. They included the following formal apologies (no doubt there were others who also wished they had a more accommodating calendar): Paul Herrick, Vin Martin, Phil Price, John McGrath, Tony Cahir, Alan “Razza” Waugh,Peter Donoghue, Shane Cahill, Stefan Nechwatal, Peter Kittel, Terry Moloney, Peter Talty, Peter Norden, Jeff Swanson, Tim Ginnane, Rob Hescroff, Tony Bahr, John Topp, Bill Manwaring, Eugene Quigley, Peter McCarthy, John Patterson, Darcy Brennan, Mick Delves, Vincent Kilkenny, Mark “Chook” Hennessy, Brendon O’Brien, Wayne Toohey and Wally Enriquez.
The conversations were wide-ranging and lasted for a few hours, finally winding up because Con McMahon had to attend the Confirmation of one of his grandkids later that arvo!
As usual, there were no minutes taken, with photos being sufficient to indicate the tone of the occasion. Those ‘pictorial minutes’ are shown in the 'carousel' display below (click the > or < to see next or previous photo). For some hints as to identities, click the 'button link' below the carousel to see individual photos ... the filename of each picture gives a clue to the identity of the faces on show.
