In addition to his own involvement in the history of the College, Martin Tobin has a large number of relatives across a number of generations who have made their mark as students of St Patrick's, and then in the broader community for many years afterwards.
The names of many of them are familiar not only to Old Patricians but to a large number of people in many walks of life. With the assistance of Bill Dowling, Martin has produced a summary of the Life After SPC for many of those Costigan and Sullivan family members throughout the years since as far as the 1880s.
As is often the case with describing families across multiple generations, it can become difficult to place various people in the right time and place. Accordingly, below the story, there is a family tree diagram. It isn't intended to be one which lists every name across many generations because this is a story (or group of stories) which focuses on the Patrician members of what might be called, for the purposes of this small project, the Costigan-Sullivan dynasty.
