The Ludwig Book Club has been conducting discussion sessions since 2020. The latest gathering of 'the Luddies' is reported below (held on November 20). Before that review is a one-off report on book passed on to SPOCA by its author and examined by a Luddie – Vin Martin.
Before those reviews, there is a summary of all previous books discussed, and those on the 'short list' are shown below that. Scroll down further again to access the full reports on earlier books.

IRISH COMMUNITY HISTORY in EARLY VICTORIA
– A BOOK REVIEW –
SPOCA received copies of a book written by the grandson (James Nicolas) of an Old Patrician. James has written a number of books based on local history research. His Unity Nationality Benevolence details the growth of one of the early Irish 'Friendly Societies' in Australia. The 'Irish National Foresters Friendly Society' would have been the preferred group to which the ancestors of many Patricians belonged. This following review by Vin Martin was not formally examined by the Luddies, but Vin is well-qualified to describe and judge the worth of the publication.
