Madhubani art connects me back to my Indian culture through my paintings and the stories that they portray. I love exploring Indian mythology through my art pieces and weaving traditional scenes with modern characteristics. I first began art when I was four years old, and I started Madhubani art when I was ten years old. I'm looking forward to painting many more projects in the coming years.
This painting shows god Ram and goddess Sita exchanging garlands during their wedding. The story goes that King Janaka announced he would give his daughter, Sita, in marriage to the man who could lift and string a special bow. Ram was able to lift the bow, and as he was stringing it, he ended up breaking it in two. King Janaka was impressed, and so Ram was allowed to marry Sita. In my painting, marigold flower garlands are hanging behind them, with four elegant birds resting on the arch's pillars, brightly colored in contrast to the arch.
