Driving is an essential part of personal, family and work life for millions of us. It can be enjoyable and pleasant, but also stressful and dangerous. If you use your own vehicle to drive on RUSH business (i.e. you are travelling between salons, and/or are paid mileage) we have a responsibility to manage risk to you.
We need to make sure you're legally entitled to drive and that your vehicle is safe, roadworthy and road legal.
You need to make sure you're properly licenced, insured to drive for work, fit to drive, plan your journeys safely and comply with road traffic laws.
If you use your own vehicle for work (i.e. we pay you mileage and/or you travel between sites of work, whether regularly or occasionally), you need to have:
motor insurance that covers you for business use
relevant vehicle tax
a valid MOT (if applicable)
a valid driving licence for the vehicle you're driving
We'd also recommend you keep your vehicle serviced and conduct regular safety checks.
In order to pay you business mileage, we'll:
request a copy of your insurance certificate each year
carry out checks using the DVLA service to make sure your vehicle is taxed and MOT'ed (we'll need your registration number to do this)
check your driving licence using the DVLA checker service (you'll be asked to provide us with a code to do this)
If you don't give your consent to us carrying out these checks, we can't allow you to drive on RUSH business or pay you mileage.
You're responsible for the payment of any fine incurred - it's up to you to drive and park responsibly.
